At nightfall: bring children in, close doors with Bismillah

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ((إِذَا كَانَ جُنْحُ اللَّيْلِ – أَوْ أَمْسَيْتُم – فَـكُفُّوا صِبْيانَـكُم، فَإِنَّ الشَّيَاطِينَ تَنْتَشِرُ حِينَئِذٍ، فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ سَاعَةٌ مِنَ اللَّيلِ فَخَلُّوهُمْ، وَأَغْلِقُوا الأَبْوَابَ وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ؛ فَإِنَّ الشَّيطَانَ لاَ يَفْتَحُ بَاباً مُغلَقاً، وَأَوْكُوا قِرَبَكُمْ، وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ، وَخَمِّرُوا آنِيَتَكُم، وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ، وَلَوْ أَنْ تَعْرُضُوا عَلَيْهَا شَيْئاً، وَأَطْفِئُوا مَصَابِيحَكُمْ)).

The Prophet ﷺ said: When night falls, or when evening comes, keep your children in, for the devils spread out at that time. When an hour of the night has passed, let them go. Close your doors and mention the name of Allah, for the devil does not open a closed door. Tie up your water-skins and mention the name of Allah, and cover your vessels and mention the name of Allah, even if you only lay something across them, and put out your lamps.
