Allahumma inni ‘abduk, ibnu ‘abdik
Allahumma inni ‘abduk, ibnu ‘abdik, ibnu amatik, nasiyati biyadik, madin fiyya hukmuk, ‘adlun fiyya qada’uk. As’aluka bikulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsak, aw anzaltahu fi kitabik, aw ‘allamtahu ahadan min khalqik, awista’tharta bihi fi ‘ilmil-ghaybi ‘indak, an taj‘alal-qur’ana rabi‘a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jala’a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.
O Allah, I am Your slave, born of Your slave and Your slave-woman. My forelock is in Your hand; Your judgement over me is carried out, and Your decree for me is just. I ask You by every name that is Yours, which You have called Yourself, or sent down in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept with Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen, to make the Quran the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the clearing of my sadness and the end of my worry.
The Prophet ﷺ said that Allah takes away the worry and sadness of whoever says it, and gives him joy in their place.
Allahumma inni a‘udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazan
Allahumma inni a‘udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazan, wal-‘ajzi wal-kasal, wal-bukhli wal-jubn, wa dala‘id-dayni wa ghalabatir-rijal.
O Allah, I seek refuge with You from worry and grief, from helplessness and laziness, from miserliness and cowardice, and from the weight of debt and being overpowered by others.
